Responsibilities:

Kimberly Brown is the new Assistant Curator of Archaeology for the Gibraltar Museum.  She graduated from Birmingham University with a BA (Hons) degree in Archaeology in 2004, and is currently undertaking a PhD at Cambridge University looking at the subsistence strategies and ecologies of Neanderthals and Modern Humans at Gorham's Cave.  She is involved in various ongoing research projects studying Gibraltar's prehistory, as well as in various publications in important scientific journals.

The role of Assistant Curator of Archaeology has a very wide remit with responsibilities including collections management and documentation within the museum; research; design, co-ordination and mounting of exhibitions; archaeological project management; excavation work; and elements of laboratory work. In her current role, she is currently tasked with re-ordering and cataloguing the museum collections and bringing the standard of care of the collections in-line with 21st Century practices.
