The Gibraltar
Heritage Magazine is a biannual full colour magazine which is produced
by the Gibraltar Museum and published
by the Ministry for Heritage, Culture, Youth and Sport. Each magazine
focuses on a specific Gibraltar related theme and features regular items
such as a crossword, a 'did you know?' and ' Then and Now' sections. The
magazines are available free of charge to all members of the public and
can be picked up from Reception at the Gibraltar Museum and various
public places around Gibraltar.
Stock of earlier
issues of the magazine have run out but html versions are now available
online by clicking on the magazine cover icons below - now online

the John Mackintosh Hall Library, 308 Main Street, Gibraltar.

< Gibraltar
Heritage Volume 4 Issue 2 commemorates one of the most resounding
victories in British naval history and celebrates the life of one of
Britain’s greatest war heroes. The special Bicentenary Edition of
the Gibraltar Heritage magazine closes the Heritage Division’s
Nelson and Trafalgar activities which have included the very
successful “Sentinel of the Mediterranean Exhibition” and Calpe
2005 Conference.
The
featured articles which include: ”Nelson Memorabilia at the
Gibraltar Museum”, “Cardozo, Nelson and the City Hall”,
and “HMS Victory at Gibraltar” highlight Nelson’s links
with Gibraltar.
Amongst
the regular items included in this issue are a crossword, “Gibraltar
Then and Now”
and historical extracts from the Gibraltar Directories.

first of the 2 Issues due out in 2005 commemorates the 75th
Anniversary of the Gibraltar Museum, focusing on the history and
evolution of this institution. Featured articles include "The
Activities of the Gibraltar Museum”, “The Medieval Baths
– History and Conservation Works”, as well as a series of
“Spotlight on Collections” focusing on some of the more
unusual artefacts stored in the depths of the museum.
Amongst the regular items
included in this issue are a crossword, “Gibraltar Then and Now”
and “Eye on good practice” features.

VOLUME 3: TERCENTENARY
ISSUE

Both issues due out in 2004 have been merged into this Tercentenary
“bumper edition”. As with previous editions, the magazine’s
contents are themed in relation to one particular subject. This
issue focuses on the Gibraltarian and reflects our development over
the last 300 years. Featured articles include “Royal Visits”,
“A history of the Royal Calpe Hunt”, “The Evacuation”, and
“The Royal Navy at Gibraltar”.
