The Gibraltarians Gallery: Looking at the development of the Gibraltarian people through the eyes of three fictional characters.
The Gharrie Exhibit: A Maltese import to Gibraltar in the second half of the nineteenth century, the ‘Gharrie’ was once a common sight on Gibraltar’s roads. The carriage on display, number 34, belonged to the Martinez family and was the last, along with its horse ‘Careto,’ to operate in Gibraltar until the early 1990s.
The Evelegh Collection: a fine collection of miniature ordnance dating from the Great Seige (1779- 83) including tools and spare parts.
GBC Camera 1: Studio B Camera– one of the first studio cameras in Gibraltar.
Cinema Room: watch the ‘Gibraltar Story’ (15 mins approx)
The Rock– Symbol for 3 Millennia: This thematic gallery presents the Rock and its meaning to people throughout time.
Islamic Gibraltar: Some artefacts dating from Gibraltar's Islamic past (711 to 1464 AD).
Urban Archaeology: Displays a selection of artefacts unearthed in recent urban excavations.
Medieval Baths: Built in 1333 these baths are one of the few standing buildings on Gibraltar dating from this period. One of the most complete baths complexes in Andalucia.
Bacarisas Gallery: Named after the predominant Gibraltarian artist, this recently renovated gallery exhibits images of Gibraltar through the eyes of artists that have been through Gibraltar over the last three centuries.
Egyptian Mummy: an Egyptian mummy found floating in the Bay of Gibraltar in the 1930s.
Passage of Time Gallery: explore Gibraltar’s prehistoric past.
Great Siege Room: the story and artefacts from Gibraltar’s 14th siege 1779-1783.
The Great Transformation: old photographs of Gibraltar’s urban spaces.
Rock Model: Built in 1865, this 1:600 scale model of Gibraltar accurately pinpoints every street, building and tree on Gibraltar 150 years ago.
Royal Gibraltar Regiment: the story of Gibraltar’s Territorial defence force.
HMS Calpe: Commemorating the closure of HMS Calpe, Royal naval reserve in 1993.
Geology
Natural History: see examples of Gibraltar’s wildlife. Exhibits range from terrestrial to marine, including an entomological collection.
